English Topics：

5. Most study-abroad programs should be renamed ‘party abroad’: they are a waste of time and money. Explain why you agree or disagree with the observation.

6. Sometimes difficulties draw families closer. Describe something that strengthened your family relationships.
  

高級組：

English Topic：

2. Mary: History teaches us many things. It is not simply a matter for curiosity. John: I object. History teaches us nothing. The world is changing and changing fast. What do you think? Can we learn useful lessons from the past, or is every situation unique, and the 21st century unlike any other? Write a discussion essay on this topic. Justify your opinions. （Students who choose this question should choose either Q3 or Q4 in Part B）

English Topics：

5. You have read an article claiming that students are spending far too much of their free time on pointless and sometimes unhealthy on-line activities to connect the world. Some people commented that students simply used the Internet as an easy way to obtain data without having to do any real work. Write an article responding to this critical view of students’ use of the Internet.

6. There are often reports in the media about customers being tricked into buying fake goods, both on-line and in shops and markets. Fake goods can be seen in certain places in Hong Kong. Write an essay outlining the extent of the problem and giving examples. State what you think the effect of this illegal activity is having on customers, on-line manufacturers and artists, and society as a whole. Make some suggestions about how this problem can be managed.
